"We moved to the Georgia Coast for one reason... the paddling. With dozens of undeveloped barrier islands, lazy rivers, and a terrific climate, the little discovered Georgia Coast is a painter's paradise. That's why, in 2003, we started Savannah Canoe and Kayak. In 2010, after thousands of on-water trips, classes, and adventures, we opened Savannah's largest paddlesports retail store. We are pleased to provide a full range of services, both on-water and off, to promote the great sport of paddling, and to play our part in helping to preserve this beautiful coast. We hope you will join us." - Kristin & Nigel Law, Owners

Commitment to Eco-Stewardship and Education
Environmental Stewardship refers to responsible action, use, and protection of our natural environment. Savannah Canoe and Kayak fosters conservation and preservation efforts, adopting sustainable practices within our natural ecosystems and educating our customers on the same. Many staff members are CARE (Coastal Awareness and Responsible Ecotourism) certified which encourages sustainable tourism on the Georgia coast. We expect all of our staff to act responsibly and encompass these values.
Ways that we practice eco-stewardship within our mission statement:
We train and educate our staff on our local ecosystems.
We encourage our staff to become CARE certified.
We run education based eco-tours on the Georgia Coast.
We host cleanups on our local waterways, canals, and beaches.
We donate to other grass root organizations that work in conservation, education, and preservation.
Ways that we practice stewardship on our on-water programs:
We practice Leave No Trace policies.
We specifically respect wildlife by observing the vulnerable species from a distance.
We scout camp sites to make sure we are not camping near vulnerable plant species or bird/mammal nesting areas.
We are mindful when exploring or walking on our local beaches and dunes.
Join us in exploring the Georgia Coast responsibly for it’s future preservation and enjoyment. Together we can continue to foster a better relationship with our Earth.
